As a major port metropolis, the hanseatic city is and has always been a magnet for free spirits and stranded souls of any color. Especially on St. Pauli, the art of tattooing has a long history and tradition and has always been deeply rooted in the harbor mileu. Pioneers of modern tattoo art, such as the now legendary Karl Rodemich, Christian Warlich or Herbert Hoffmann have pursued their profession in this neighborhood more than a hundred years ago and have operated here a little later the first professional tattoo parlors.

So where could be a better place to practice the tattoo craft than in this district? After working with various artists in several studios over the past few years, Boldblack Tattoo is now my first solo project. On this page I go into all the styles that fascinate me personally particularly and have significantly shaped my previous work as a tattoo artist in Hamburg.

I see my own path, as well as the creative process as a whole, as a journey that never ends. At various points I have been lucky enough to meet inspiring people who have helped me learn the craft and develop my personal style. I am incredibly grateful for every experience, all the support and the incredible trust each and every client has placed in me with each new project.
