I am Thor, a tattoo artist working under the name Boldblack Tattoo in Hamburg, St. Pauli. What excites me about tattooing is the connection between art and the body: lines, surfaces, and shapes change with the rhythm of breathing, posture, and movement — it is precisely this liveliness that defines my work. I love developing designs that adapt organically to the shape of the body and emphasize it, rather than placing something on top of it. I find inspiration in silence, in minimalist forms, in natural structures, and in the people who place their trust in me. Every collaboration is a dialogue: I don't design on a body, but with it.

Before I start designing, I take a close look: How do the shoulders fall? How do the hips turn? Where is there tension, where is there calm? These details form the basis for a design that doesn't just sit on the skin, but hugs the body's shape. This combination of anatomy and design is the most exciting part of the process for me. Whether it's fine structures or powerful blackwork areas, I make sure that the motif harmonizes with your body line.

I work calmly, with focus and without rushing. It is important to me that you know what we are doing, why we are doing it, and how it will feel later. When we work together, it is not just about a motif, but about a piece of identity. Many people come with the idea of making change visible — letting go of something or starting something new. A tattoo can express something internal, and I want to work with you to create something that will last— in the best sense of the word.
